Important: SnapClaim is a productivity tool to help organise receipts. It is not a registered tax agent, does not provide tax advice, and does not lodge tax returns. Always confirm your deduction eligibility with a registered tax agent or the ATO before lodging.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SnapClaim, operated by Paul Mueller ("we", "us", "our"), accessible at www.snapclaim.com.au. By using SnapClaim you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

SnapClaim is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that uses artificial intelligence to scan receipts, classify them against ATO deduction categories (D1–D15), and help you organise records for tax time. The service is provided on a subscription basis with a free tier and paid plans. SnapClaim is available as a Progressive Web App, on Google Play, and on the Apple App Store.

Receipt data you scan is processed by Anthropic's Claude API and is not stored permanently on our servers. Your receipt records are stored locally on your device and remain under your control. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your personal information.

7. Intellectual property

All content, design, code and branding on SnapClaim is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by Australian and international copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the service without our written permission.

Your receipt data and records remain your property. By uploading content you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the service.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

SnapClaim is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of SnapClaim, including any ATO penalties, tax shortfalls, or loss of data. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the services remedied if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

11. Changes to the service and terms

We may modify or discontinue the service or these Terms at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
