SnapClaim ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information when you use our website and app at www.snapclaim.com.au.
We collect the following personal information:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
When you scan a receipt, the image or PDF is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI classification. Receipt data is transmitted securely over HTTPS. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
Free plan: Receipt images are not stored on our servers. Only the structured result (merchant, date, amount, ATO category) is saved locally on your device. If you lose your device, receipt images cannot be recovered.
Lite and Professional plans: Full receipt images are securely stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage (Oceania region) under your account. This enables you to view original receipt images and restore your data on a new device. Images are retained for the life of your subscription and deleted within 30 days of account closure on request.
The Statement Health Check (Professional plan) lets you upload a bank statement PDF for one-time analysis. Your statement is transmitted over HTTPS and sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI analysis of transaction descriptions, dates and amounts. The statement is processed in memory only: we never write your statement PDF to any storage, and it is discarded the moment processing finishes. It is not used for any purpose other than producing your health check, and it is not used to train AI models.
What we retain is the analysis summary only (the health check result): transaction descriptions, dates, amounts, and Oscar's assessment of each. This summary is stored in Upstash Redis (Sydney, Australia) under your account so you can refer back to it, and it is deleted automatically 90 days after the check is run. You can request earlier deletion at any time by contacting us. Statement Health Checks are limited to one per calendar month per account.
Your account credentials and subscription status are stored in Upstash Redis (Sydney, Australia). On the Free plan, receipt data is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. On the Lite and Professional plans, receipt images are additionally stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage (Oceania region). We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Stripe handles all payment data under PCI DSS compliance.
SnapClaim uses the following third-party services:
SnapClaim uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your receipts, settings, and session information locally on your device. This data does not leave your device except where explicitly described above. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@snapclaim.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.
Account data is retained while your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Receipt data stored locally on your device is controlled entirely by you and can be cleared at any time via the app settings. For Lite and Professional plan users, receipt images stored in Cloudflare R2 will be deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
SnapClaim is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The current version is always available at www.snapclaim.com.au/privacy.
